REVITALISATION OF BANDYUP WOMEN’S PRISON

Revitalising a correctional institution is a task we don’t take lightly. This is why our friends at Midolo Building Services know they can count on us to get the job done. We were contacted to produce an imperative painting project for a women’s prison.

A women’s prison focused on transformation

Based in West Swan, Bandyup Women’s Prison is a women's only prison with the primary objective of providing meaningful opportunities for their inmates. The institution offers prisoners with work and other prison-based opportunities and activities, including self-development and therapeutic programs. Furthermore, there is a mother and baby unit, meaning babies up to the age of 12 months can live with their mother on-site.

Transforming a prison, through impeccable paint work

Nu-Vision Painting was engaged to paint the prison, as part of the prison’s alterations and refurbishment project. The scope of work included interior and exterior painting to offices, prison cells, day rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and laundry of Unit 1A. It was imperative that we used hard-wearing paints, durable, mould resistant, and could endure washing due to its high traffic of occupants.

A renewed life for a women’s prison

After 879 hours, we completed the project in July 2021. The colour scheme was updated to a modern palette whilst maintaining a calm neutral environment. It is important to note that we followed strict WH&S compliance throughout the process, and the client was pleased with the end result.
